Statutory Warning: This is purely views on fictional books and has no great knowledge based books.

It has been a long time since I wrote something. I have been thinking for quite some time on what topic to write, thanks to Priya I got a good topic to write----- “Books”.

I thinking there will be few who has the patience to read the same book good knows how many times and still find it exciting as if reading the first time. I am one among those. Thought why not share those books which I had enjoyed reading. Let me start with those books which are considered the fad of the times.
1. ATLAS SHRUGGED: I believe that it is one of the most interesting works of AYN RAND which popularly other would deny considering FOUNTAIN HEAD better than this. It is a solid 800+ Pages books on a idealist people whom for sure no one will ever meet in the world. Baring the last 20 pages which is typical Masala movie style the rest of the book is a treat for the reader. There are 4 major characters Dagny Taggart, John GALT, Fracisco and HANK Rearden. They come to tell some message or other across the book. The books was written in early 20th century and it has been on paper for about 50+ year and still it is very good. I believe everybody should read this book
2. FOUNTAINHEAD: AYN RAND another masterpiece from the author. Howard ROARK A character very difficult to leave or Dominque Fracon a stand very difficult to understand. This book is a 600+ Page document .Been in print for more than 70+ years but a master piece. If I had to quote AYN RAND on the Book “ An Authors success is when it can stand the test of time” . I think this is one of the few which have stood the test of time. I you ever think how a builing should be read this. There are 2 court trials which is the highlight of the book. Don’t miss it.
3. HARRY POTTER Series: J K ROWLING became a Pauper to a millionaire for a series of 7 books. But that is no indication that the work is great. But it worth a read only for the fantasies one can visualize. If you can read the book and see the movie you fill find that even 1/10th of your imagination is not projected in the movie. It is not the plot but the sheer grandeur and vivid details that make this series stand apart.
4. Enid Blyton’s Famous Five Series : This is the only series before Harry Potter which every kid between 8-14 would have enjoyed the most. Atleast I did. It is the adventure of 4 kids and dog and all the various adventures. Atleast I always dreamt of having one of those adventures happen in my life which never did. Read it to enjoy it.
5. DAN BROWN’s ANGELS & DEMONS: People consider the DA VINCI CODE a superb book. For them this statement “I think you have not read this book”. This book takes you around Vatican city during the PAPAL election (election of the Christian Pope). There is no further vivid description of the work of art and monuments. The book gives such vivid details on the various archeological wonders that anyone can imagine how Vatican city will be without going to that place. (It is a 400+ pages book and became a rage in 2006)
6. Not a PENNY more and Not a PENNY Less : The first book by Jeffrey Archer where 4 people get cheated in the first 10 pages and how they take revenge forms part of the plot. It is a 150 page book and to be read till the last paragraph.
7. “KANE and ABEL” & “PRODIGAL DAUGHTER” : They are sequels both are masterpiece. For those who can remember, a serial which started the Mega serial Fad ,“ JUNOON” ,which was also dubbed in all regional languages and watched by most, KANE And ABEL is the story inspiration for that. Poor that the serial got carried away by it success. The book is a treat for book lovers. It takes you from birth to death of the central characters with the same name. Interestingly Their kids marry each other and thus sprung the sequel PRODIGAL DAUGHTER. Except for slack in between it is an interesting read.
8. ERIC SEGAL ‘s LOVE STORY : If one can remember KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI’s Sharukh crying when RANI is dying thanks to LOVE STORY this part was inspired from that book. A 90 page pure masterpiece. Most of the part would have been seen and heard but unfortunately have been taken from this book. It is one of the cleanest love stories I have ever read from an English author.
9. NANCY DREW and HARDY BOYS SERIES : This series sprung during the age when with these character in mind anybody can give a story and it gets printed under the name of CAROLYNE KEANE for NANCY DREW and FRANKLIN DIXON for Hardy Boys. Unfortunately both of these were never real writers. Detective stories genre got a new meaning maybe after the James Bond books.
10. ARTHUR HAILEY’s AIRPORT : It is a gem to read. The king of detail giving such indepth description of an AIRPORT and an entire story around it. You need extremely patience to read through this detailed book but I think the experience is worth it. If you really wanted to fantasize on this please watch “TERMINAL”--- TOM HANKS brings life to this book. Arthur Hailey has other books like DETECTIVE, HOSPITAL etc to his credit each giving indepth detail of the concerned profession.
Most of these books are movies today but reading this is an experience no amount of watching can replace. Do not get bogged down by the size of the book it is only a matter of opening the first page of the book or crossing the first 20 pages I can guarantee you that the book will not be rested till it is complete.
