Delhi Trip - The final itinerary

Hi All,
Many of you might know the first itinerary that Harish sent to
everybody on the plans to go around Delhi while attending Asha's
marriage. Here is the final itinerary of what happened in Delhi.
Everybody asked me to write a blog on how the plan flopped. But then I
chose to write it as how everything was as planned (only it was
planned by someone else).

Chronologically the very first plan was that of Harish which was to
travel from Hyderabad to Vijaywada and go around Vijaywada for around
6 hours and then catch the train to Delhi. Of course GOD in the mood
to teach Harish the power of solitude made the 6 hours plan complete
in one hour and the rest is obvious.

Plan 2 was that of the travel to Haridwar and Rishikesh by Harish, Me
and Appa. Again GOD taught us perseverance by making us travel in a
reserved compartment which was as crowded as the unreserved. But GOD
did the right thing by making us come to Haridwar on the auspicious
day of Amavasya on a monday. We got a glimpse of what everybody meant
by saying India is hugely populated. And considering the crowd we
chose to walk away from the group which took us 3 hours and 10 kms of
walking in the not so cold sun. And of course why go to Rishikesh when
you have already visited Haridwar. That we realised when GOD created a
traffic jam that would take us 6 hours to cross 16 kms (distance
between Haridwar and Rishikesh).

Plan 2 of course had a parallel plan. Jaya periamma and Guru periappa
were being forced to sleep in Air conditioned rooms. GOD looking at
their plight and saw to that there was no power supply that night so
that they could enjoy the pleasant 45 deg C of Delhi. Meanwhile
Rajagopal Chittapa, Mani, Nitya mama, etc got to do some exercise
(which according to GOD they did very less of) by making them fill
2000 litres of water in every bucket, drum or mug in their house.
Water and electricity the two main means to think of GOD and we did a
lot of that in that week.

Day 4 of GOD's plan gave Harish, me and appa a wonderful trip through
the complete metro line when we missed our stop (on purpose by
mistake) and reached the other end. Meanwhile entered another family
who were as unsure of GOD's plan as we were. Balu mama, Hema manni and
Ramya had the luck of travelling light when their luggages had decided
that the weather at Cochin was better than that at Delhi. Ranjini,
Hema manni and Ramya also got to learn the art of sharing (clothes of
course) and Balu mamma (who surprising had an alternative arrangement)
got to learn how caring all his relatives were when once every 2
minutes people checked on the status of his luggage. Harish and I on
the other hand learnt of how much people cared for us when we returned
after the (uninformed) night walk between 10 and 11:30 PM. The care
that people had for us was explained to us in detail till 2:00 AM the
next day and we learnt of all the alternative theories of what people
guessed we were upto for that 1.5 hours (which included going to a
movie, getting locked in a room, hiding in the top floor for smoking,
...). This also ensured that people were active all night rather than
waste it by sleeping. Rajagopal Chittapa thought this was the
highlight of this trip. Obviously he had not forseen the future.

Day 5 was the day of marriage when so much things happened that I am
skipping to day 6. Day 6 was the day for the trip to Agra and Mathura
where 10 of us were supposed to go. Sensing the large crowd GOD saw to
that 3 were reduced when Shankar chittapa had some stomach problem.
GOD also saved the remaining 7 from the Heat by sending a 6 seater
vehicle rather than 7. Despite the driver's attempt at breaking GOD's
will, we got a compromise between the heat and travel by travelling
for 2.5 hours around Delhi back to home. Day 6 finally concluded with
a trip by 8 people to Karol Bagh for shopping. But too many people are
too much trouble. So two of us (Ramya and ME) came back to the safety
of home after touching Karol Bagh as per plans (not ours for sure).

Day 7 consisted of a trip to Red Fort, Chandni Chowk, Paratha Galli by
Rajagopal Chittapa, Saroja Chitti, Hiran, Lalitha, Harish and Me.
There is nothing inside Red Fort and hence it was ensured that we did
not get in and we got to see all the amazing four walls of the fort.
After our amazing parathas and trip back home everybody was happy that
we arrived late since now every other person in the family got to pour
2000 litres of water in the different cans.

Day 8 consisted of bidding Harish good bye and Rajagopal Chittapa and
family and Shankar chittapa and family's trip to Haridwar and
Rishikesh. As you would have guessed by now only the first happened.
GOD is everywhere and Ganga flows throughout. You do not need to go
all the way to Haridwar to see GOD or Ganga. GOD said this subtly by
using Seeta chitti as the tool this time and cancelling their journey
in through the hot climate of North India.

And thus ended GOD's plan on our trip to Delhi. As a final note - A
suggestion to everybody who wishes to roam around Delhi: May, June and
December are the best months to visit Delhi.

Regards,
Sundaresan
